Elis Phillips

Graduate Transport Planner

It’s great to work hard as part of a team to meet all our deadlines and get positive reactions from clients.

What do you do all day?

Anything and everything transport related, but mainly I write reports that include transport statements and travel plans.

What do you like best about your role?

The variety of the work. Quite often I’ll be working on several projects at the same time that are all completely different. Before I joined I was a Property Manager at a lettings agency, so it’s great to be using my degree in City and Regional Planning to begin my career in transport planning. And with such a successful organisation.

What qualities do you need to do your job well?

You need to be really well organised and, of course, hardworking, and have good writing skills. It’s also vital to be able to interact well with colleagues in different disciplines.

Have you developed personally or professionally since you joined the organisation?

I’m definitely developing both personally and professionally. My knowledge and understanding of the role and my profession has increased tenfold.

Outside of work, what do you get up to?

I play and watch football, and in the summer I enjoy playing tennis and golf.
